Figure AI is developing a new humanoid robot named Figure 03 to perform domestic chores and manual labor. The current model, Figure 02, already handles tasks like towel folding and industrial work at a BMW plant. The new version promises slimmer joints, tactile fingers, safer batteries, and lower production costs. Its neural system, dubbed Helix, learns from human “pilots” who film themselves doing everyday tasks to help train the robot. Despite progress, folding soft fabrics and dealing with unpredictable environments remain challenging. Safety, data privacy, and trusting robots in real homes are major hurdles. The company views the 03 launch as a turning point in robotics.
