Meta is rolling out new anti-scam tools for Messenger and WhatsApp. On Messenger it’s testing an AI-driven system that flags suspicious messages from unknown contacts and warns users of impersonation, fake investment pitches or urgent financial asks. On WhatsApp it adds alerts when you begin screen-sharing with someone you don’t know and shows extra context in group invites (like group age and size) to help users decide whether to join. The goal is to raise the bar for scam detection while reminding users to stay alert about group invites, unknown links and requests for money or private info.
